12.06.2017 The power of bio-based solvents Back Tools Bookmark Share Our bio-based solvents are produced by blending materials coming from fermentation of agricultural crops rich namely in carbohydrates (sugars and starches) and in oils, such as, for example, corn, wheat, beets, soybean, sunflower and others. By using modern industrial fermentation processes, itÆs possible to obtain bBioethanol and some further linear alcohols and many derivatives of - Lactic acid - Citric acid - Tartaric acid - Succinic acid and others By extraction of oils, itÆs possible to convert them in natural fatty acids methyl esters. Our very sound know-how and technological platform has been built up on a deep knowledge of compatibility and synergy of a wide range of naturally produced molecules, in order to assure to formulators all physical and technical features they require us. As a result we can offer to coatings formulators many replacements of well known petrochemical solvents, whose toxicological and ecotoxicological profiles are very heavy. All our products are labeled just as irritant. Then our biosolvents are an available and advanced way to provide to the coating formulators - Biobased - Renewable - Sustainable replacements to many petroleum-based solvents. Our biosolvents have a lot of advantages: - increase biodegradability - decrease toxicity - donÆt contain neither aromatic nor aliphatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated, ketones - have an high solvency power on many polymers and resins = lower solvent usage - have a stable price, not being linked to international oil market fluctuations.
