28.05.2019 Synthesis and application of modified epoxy acrylate oligomers for glass coatings Back Tools Bookmark Share Epoxy acrylate oligomers modified with various chemical materials are commercially used in various coatings applications. UV curable modified epoxy acrylate oligomers are environmentally friendly products because they do not contain volatile compounds and do not require high temperatures during the process. These oligomers have good adhesion, chemical resistance, electrical insulation and high mechanical strength and thermal stability properties In this work, epoxy acrylate oligomers modified with adipic acid were synthesized at different ratios. Oligomers are characterized with FTIR. Then, the synthesized oligomer was mixed with different silanes at various ratios to prepare formulations which can be cured by UV radiation and these coatings were applied on glass panels. Adhesion, pencil hardness, flexibility, gloss were done in prepared coatings. The thermal behavior of the material was investigated by TGA. It has been observed that the scratch resistance, gloss, hardness and adhesion values of the hyperbranched coatings applied to glass panels increase.
