21.01.2016 Renewable Micronized Powders for Coatings & Inks Back Tools Bookmark Share Micronized additives are widely used in the coating and printing ink industry for modification of surfaces. Mainly commercial available synthetic waxes play an important role for different kind of variations. Scratch resistance, reduction of slip properties, matting effects, rub resistance and much more are properties which can be influenced by the addition of these additives. Recently the industry is changing and is looking for more sustainable additives which can provide similar or even improved results. There are some micronized additives based on renewables which can even provide performance benefits compared to standard waxes. Clariant launched micronized waxes and additives for printing inks and coatings which are based on raw materials coming from renewable sources. The micronized innovations for wood coatings and printing inks are based on renewable raw materials in different particle size distributions (Renewable Polymer RP for printing inks, Coarse Renewable Polymer CRP and Fine Renewable Polymer FRP for wood coatings). They support customers' ambitions to offer more sustainable solutions to the industrial markets without compromising on performance.
