And to optimize a formulation, the true viscosity profile of a formulation under real process conditions in terms of shear rates and temperature, provides the formulator information about the performances or processability of a formulation for a better optimization. A novel microfluidic rheometer provides the formulator the rheological behavior of formulations in real application conditions of shear from 100 - 180 000 s-1 and in less than 3 min. This technology is calibration free and viscosity is monitored in real-time by visual flow acquisition methods, allowing for high throughput screening in a fraction of time of normal methods.
