08.11.2024 Novel high activity drier, free from cobalt and VOC, that works efficiently without the addition of auxiliary driers Back Tools Bookmark Share In the search for alternatives to cobalt-based driers which give concerns regarding possible negative health effects, some manganese and iron driers with various ligands have been introduced as driers for oxidative drying resins in particular for alkyd paints. However, these products generally don't have sufficient drying performance compared to conventional cobalt driers. So, paint manufacturers have difficulties in finding the appropriate dosage to the paint and need to combine these with various auxiliary driers for best drying performance. Our new development, based on the theory of metal complex design, can offer a new value of "Auxiliary Drier Free" and "Better Appearance in Paints" and supplement our current portfolio of "Cobalt Free" and "VOC Free" driers. The active material in this development product is a highly active manganese complex, which dries efficiently at lower dosage than conventional drier combinations and eliminates the need for time consuming work on finding the optimum drier combination. This unique and sustainable development reduces further the yellowing of paint and improves its appearance.
