Non-ionic silance emulsion as integral water repellent - impact on cement hydration process

 
Use of an emulsion of silane as integral water repellent for cement based materials is illustrated. Results show that the main hydration processes are only slightly affected. However, hydration of cement is slightly delayed at high addition levels, leading to some limited drop of mechanical properties.
