22.01.2016 New Water-Borne Segmented Polymer Dispersions and Their Performance in Coatings Applications Back Tools Bookmark Share With diminishing oil reserves and increasing environmental consciousness of customers, the conversion of biomass and bio-based ingredients into useful products for coatings and binders offers a considerable sustainable growth potential for chemical companies. Recent advances in genetic engineering and enzyme catalysis makes production of new bio-based building blocks possible and economically attractive. At the same time, a major move toward greener, safer products, by market-leading customers, mandates chemical manufacturers to come up with suitable products to help customers with "green" initiatives or risk losing their business. Many new products based on plant based raw materials are introduced by suppliers to coating industry in recent decades. A recent review of products made from biobased raw materials is available from ACS series.1 Duration: 17:47Speaker: Naser PourahmadyCompany: Lubrizol Advanced MaterialsConference: European Coatings CongressSession: PolyurethanesLocation: NürnbergDate: 20.04.2015
