New ultra-thin effect pigments

Pearl effect pigments play an important role when it comes to high end decoration. But especially in the yellow and red color range there is still a need for pigments with good hiding power which can be used safely. Current technology use aluminum flake as a substrate and iron oxide as an interference layer. The today design shows some significant limitations. Based on a novel technology using an ultra-thin aluminum substrate it is possible for the first time to produce pigments with outstanding hiding power and no safety risks. Our groundbreaking UTP technology, makes it possible to enjoy the benefits of aluminum based pearl pigments in mass coloring of plastic, pigmentation of powder coatings and other coatings systems.
