15.03.2016 New high performance fire retardant unsaturated polyester resins Back Tools Bookmark Share New and updated standards for fire safety especially for public transport (e.g. EN 45545 - Railway application) require research and development to ensure the further usage of unsaturated polyester resins (UPR) within public transport. PYCO has developed a new intrinsically fire retardant unsaturated polyester resin to fulfill the highest requirements of EN 45545 for railway application. The high fire retardancy is based on the combination of two covalent bonded phosphorus monomers. With this resin Hazard Level 3, the highest requirement of EN 45545, can be reached with 50% less filler content than state-of-the-art UPR systems as well as good processing and material properties.
