New generation reactive matting additive for epoxy and hybrid powder coatings

 
With recent increase in use of smooth matte epoxy and epoxy-polyester hybrid powder coatings for interior application and current volatile market for the matting agents, there's a growing need for development of novel, multifunctional raw materials/additives which can provide desired results. We'll be discussing different approaches to produce a matte surface and reactions with epoxy based on alternative chemistry and how physical aspects such as particle size distribution, surface area and softening point/gel time can influence matting efficiency while improving storage stability without affecting reactivity. Some of the variations include low temperature cure matting technology for conventional Epoxy and Epoxy/polyester- hybrid powder coatings which cures at 150 C or below while maintaining same level of cure and matting efficiency.
