New coating possibility using silicon-based blocked isocyanates and related materials

 
Silicon-based blocked isocyanates (3-silylpropanol derivatives) were found to deblock with efficient inhibition of re-blocking. The new blocked isocyanates are compatible with high reactivity and water tolerability, which open the door of new water-borne coatings. In the presentation at European Coating Show 2021 Conference, mechanistic insight, scope of isocyanates, further applicability for functional coatings, as well as related silicone materials, will be disclosed.
