07.12.2021 New binder for water-borne consolidating primers for masonry Back Tools Bookmark Share Masonry surface conditioners or consolidating primers have demanding performance requirements, which is why many professional painters still prefer solvent-borne products to ensure problem-free painting of exterior walls and façades. However, there is now a water-borne alternative that is sure to gain acceptance as a more environmentally-friendly option for professional painters. E.B.S. (Emulsified Binding System) technology, provides exceptional adhesion to porous and chalky substrates, thanks to the very specific polymer morphology design, as exterior masonry products based on this technology have admirably demonstrated over the past 15 years. Based on the E.B.S. technology, we have developed a new binder based specifically for the formulation of penetrating and consolidating primers that not only features optimal alkali and efflorescence resistance for application on fresh concrete, but with sufficient Volatile Organic Compound (V.O.C.) reduction to formulate primers that fulfill the Ecolabel requirements for interior and exterior application.
