Wood is an omnipresent, versatile and renewable building material. Unfortunately wooden constructions are flammable and therefore need to be protected. In this presentation we address the recent development in flame retardant (FR) coatings for wood. Furthermore, this presentation will outline the latest EMPA innovation in FR coatings for wood composites used in Aircrafts.
