Last mile of coatings

 
The last-mile issue was adopted originally from the telecommunications industry where it describes difficulty connecting individual homes to the main network. Today it is used mostly for describing of people and packages transportation from the hubs to the final destination. We have defined such "last mile" of coatings, i.e. relationship between a paint shop and a final customer. It is this relationship and its results that should be decisive also for coatings laboratories and production. And yet we see often these two areas are like two different worlds. I will introduce a few examples of how modern IT solutions can help to bring them closer.
