05.05.2017 High temperature, real time analyses of coating film drying Back Tools Bookmark Share Diffusing Wave Spectroscopy (DWS) has already be shown as an efficiency tool for film drying anal-yses. The backscattered light gives valuable information about the particle mobility (contained in the product like droplets or fibres) in order to evaluate layer-to-layer compatibility or substrate influence on drying. Recently, this technique has been coupled with temperature control, allowing the analysis of film formation at various temperatures (4-90°C, possibilities to go to 200°C). Several examples show the influence of the temperature on the drying behaviour, which will allow the optimization of coating procedures.
