High performance 1K waterborne acrylics for parquet and furniture

 
For modern wood coatings waterborne binders are based on Polyesters / Alkyds, Acrylics, PUDs or PU-Acrylic hybrids. In terms of cross-linking 1K, 2K ( via NCO ) and radiation curing (UV) are most common. Technological requirements for these coatings e.g. chemical resistance EN 12720 / DIN 68861, ease of application, fast drying and stackability increase permanently. At the same time the increasing purchase power of Mega furniture companies pushes for decreasing coatings cost per coated m² or piece of furniture. To match this demanding, complex profile novel multiphase waterborne 1K Acrylics have been developed. Variations on monomers, particle size, cross-linkers, ratio and Tg soft / hard phase lead to an improved set of technical properties, while maintaining cost-efficiency vs. other binder technologies, especially PUDs.
