Green solvents - Replacing Dirty and Toxic with Clean and Green

 
The purpose of this paper is the examine what constitutes a green solvent, the differences between what are classed as green solvents, their safety and use in a variety of applications ranging from formulation, surface preparation to cleaning. The paper will examine the short and long term effects typical solvents have on the environment, the health of the worker and the bottom line for the company. It will also discuss the advantages of using green solvents for a company in a variety of applicable processes. The paper will outline how the use of green solvents will also assist the company in reducing it regulatory burdens, improve regulatory compliance, improve its public relations and sales and improve productivity through reducing workplace exposure and injuries related to exposure to toxic solvents.
