03.12.2021 Expanding the colour spaces using hiding interference pigments Back Tools Bookmark Share After the successful introduction of hiding interference pigments based on UTP-Technology, stylists have now the opportunity to expand the color space for effect coatings. Formulations with highly transparent pigments with a minimum of scattering reach their full potential only due to the exceptional hiding power of the novel interference pigments. Outstanding bright and intense colors are possible now without leaving the convenient rules of coatings design. There is no longer a need to compensate missing hiding power of interference pigments with carbon black, titanium dioxide, or enhanced scattering power. Highly luminous blue and violet effects are the result as well as subtle champagne effect colors. Formulation guidelines to achieve these effects will be presented and discussed.
