04.03.2024 Evaluation of non-stick fluorinated coatings through performance tests Back Tools Bookmark Share Using hardening additives in the formulation of the coating negatively affects the release properties but these materials give herdness and abrasion resistance to the coating which is a big issue in non-stick cookware coatings. In order to evaluate these effects, an experimental design was performed for two different hardening additives. The roughness and glossiness of the coatings of these 16 different samples were measured after the application and also the weight loss of all the specimens metered before and after any scrubbing stage of simulating operation. The results showed that in general, the roughness value is increased by growing the ratio of hardening additives and also incrementing the particle size of them. Gloss Unit of the samples reduced by increasing the ratio of the additive. Regarding the weight loss, it appeared that the specimens with coarser particle sizes and also thicker DFT of the coating had the most desired results.
