Encapsulation, a versatile toolbox that brings about benefits to your formulations and coatings

Our encapsulation technology is a process that consists in dispersing, stabilizing and protecting hydrophobic substances in water. It is an interesting way to add hydrophobic molecules in water-borne systems to provide new properties such as appearance and texture of formulations and coatings. We have developed an encapsulation process that combines the advantages to be easy to carry out and reproducible. This new technology is based on hydrophobic/hydrophilic polymer structure: the numerous degrees of freedom in the architecture of the macromolecule permit well-controlled dispersion morphology for a wide range of hydrophobic substances. We have showed that we are able to control the particle size, the stability of the dispersion and its viscosity to make easier their utilization. Once the dispersion is introduced in the final formulation and applied, we measure a controlled release of the active molecule. Examples will be presented for coatings applications such as mosquito repellent or fragrance encapsulation.
