Directcoating technology combines injection molding of thermoplastics with overcoating by solvent free 2K-PU-coatings in the mold ("reaction injection molding") in an integrated process. Basic technology, substrates, coating materials and design options as well as testing methods and advantages of the integrated process over conventional molding and painting operations will be discussed.
