Application of organofunctional silanes on glass

 
Organo-functional silanes can be multifuctional on glass surfaces. Fluoralkylsilanes create very thin coatings with hydrophobic and oleophobic properties. Silanes can be used in primer formulations or as an additve in different coating sytems, to impromve the adhesion to the glass surface. Silane modified coating systems do not only improve adhesion, but also improves general performance features. Cleaning prior to application is key for the high performance, because silanes can only adhear to a clean surface.
