Advanced modification of liquid acrylic roof membranes with rheological additives in the entire area of shear forces

 
The importance of modifying rheological properties in the area of low-, mid- and high shear forces in relation to liquid acrylic roof membranes based on dispersion of acrylic polymers with low Tg is discussed. The experimental part presents the results of case studies with various rheological additives HEC and HEUR in combination with each other to ensure optimal rheological properties during application by roller, brush and spraying on both horizontal surfaces of roofs and vertical elements such as chimneys or retaining walls. The dependence of the effectiveness of rheological additives on the type of polymer dispersion and associative thickening action as well as the effectiveness of the combination of rheological additives HEC + HEUR and HEUR + HEUR for the optimization of rheological properties were summarized.
