Additive dosing and dispersing system in the powder coating industry

 
Additives such as aluminum oxide or silicon dioxide (silica) are used in powder coating processing for better flowability of the solid particles and thus to avoid blockage during application. Costs of the additives are a major factor in powder coating production. These costs can be decreased by enhancing the additive dispersion in the powder coating and thus reducing the required amount of additives while maintaining the desired flowability. The company Neuman & Esser has developed a new dosing and dispersing additive device which provide several advantages and reduces the required amount of additives up to 50 %. This additive dosing system was tested at real conditions in the powder coating industry. Results will be presented.
