A novel approach to low viscous silane functional polyisocyanates

 
Hans Josef Laas joined the Coatings Raw Materials Research department at Bayer AG in 1989 after he had received his Doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry from the Saarland University. Since 2015 he is heading a research laboratory at Covestro Deutschland AG where he develops modified aliphatic polyisocyanate crosslinkers for coating and adhesive applications. His special research interest lies in the field of hydrophillically modified polyisocyanates. He was awarded the Otto Bayer Medal in 1993 and the Presidential Green Chemistry Award in 2000 for his contributions to the technology of Two-Component Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings.
