22.01.2016 A novel acrylic RDP for EIFS and stucco Back Tools Bookmark Share We successfully produced a new acrylic latex powder to be used in a non-cementitious dry organic top coat for external insulation or flexible stuccos. The performance versus best in class wet formulation results in equivalent wet abrasion (scrub) resistance, weatherability and workability, along with increased dirt pickup resistance (DPUR) and improved early rain resistance. The novel powder combines the durability of acrylic latex, with the advantages of a dry powder, including reduced transportation, packaging and disposal costs; excellent storage stability; and improved flow, wetting and de-aerating properties. The new acrylic latex powderis compatible with dry or wet anionic rheology modifier and is fully cement-compatible. Topcoats can be applied with trowel, brush, airless spray and pump systems.
