The properties of water-borne polyurethane urea dispersions are intimately linked to their composition of soft and hard segments and degree of phase separation . The chemical nature and molecular weight of the soft segments largely determine the structure and properties of both the WPUUs and the PUU films. Typically, the polyols used for synthesising WPUUs are polyether, polyester, polycaprolactone (PCL) and polycarbonate diol (PCD).
