Two new natural oil polyols have been developed by Vertellus to provide cost-effective reactive diluents in acrylic and polyester systems that lower VOCs and increase solids. "Polycin XP 100 LV" and "Polycin XP 200 LV" are both 100 % solids and are based on castor oil. When suitably formulated, solventborne urethanes incorporating 20-30 % of the product offer a number of benefits: good viscosity reduction, good gloss and colour retention in QUV accelerated-weathering testing, workable pot life and good initial colour.
