Numerous applications have already been developed for polycarbonate (PC) on account of its excellent optical and physical properties. However, its low surface hardness and poor scratch resistance are its most criticised shortcomings. In recent years, various types of research have been conducted on transparent silicone-modified coatings with a view to improving the scratch resistance of polycarbonate panels.
