The ability to prevent the accumulation of dirt particles on paints in different weathering conditions is an important property for exterior paint applications. The resistance toward dirt accumulation depends on several factors, including the paint's composition, and most importantly on the environment in which the paints are used. To develop paints with high dirt pickup resistance requires a comprehensive understanding on the effect of each component of the paint using standardised test methods that simulate different weather conditions.
