Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) play a key role in the design and fabrication of multiple high-performance materials and composites. PFAS-based materials are well-known for their notably high chemical inertness and resistance to UV-irradiation, combined with outstanding wettability and oleophobic behaviour. This makes such products indispensable for applications in numerous high-end industrial fields, the coatings market being no exception.
