A switch-over from fossil to bio-based raw materials offers many advantages, but also entails overcoming a few hurdles. For example, cost and/or performance often fail to match those of traditional products. And the products are often difficult to market, other than to a niche group of particularly eco-minded customers. Natural waxes, on the other hand, are a good example of how renewable raw materials can overcome these hurdles. They are established ingredients in various applications.
