ALL THAT GLITTERS IS SILVER?

Silver is widely used in paints and coatings on account of its anti-microbial effect and is classified under the Biocidal Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012; BPR) in product-type 2 (Disinfectants and algaecides not intended for direct application to humans and animals). As far back as 2020, the assessing authority, in this case Sweden, submitted a draft CLH report (Proposal for Harmonised Classification and Labelling) to the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC).
