Scientists recently dealt with the fabrication and properties of polysilsesquioxane-based trilayer core-shell structure latex coatings with fluorinated polyacrylate and silica nanocomposite as the shell layer. Results indicated that the hybrid film containing SiO 2 NPs showed higher hydrophobicity, lower surface free energy and water absorption.
