A. Kramell and R. Csuk from the MLU Halle-Wittenberg have found out that several thousand years ago people were dressed in colourful clothes. In the past, natural substances were used for dyeing. For example, plant roots of the genus Rubia were used as the basis for red colours , and ground walnut shells for brown.
