Powder coatings differ from wet coatings in that they contain 100 % solids. The organic, mostly thermosetting systems were first used in the 1960s. Initially, there were only epoxy-based powder coatings, but in the meantime various raw materials are available, such as poly- urethane or polyester resins, to meet the different requirements for powder coating systems.
