ECH is used to produce epoxy resins for coatings, composite materials and electronic components ( Figure 1 ). The use of epoxy resins as binders in protective coatings has been the industry standard for many decades. They have excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance properties after curing, formulation flexibility and commercial availability.
