PROMISING RESULTS FOR SIPN

Painting surfaces with polymers is a well-known method for corrosion and wear resistance. PLA is a fully biodegradable, eco-friendly biopolymer used in various industries. However, its brittleness, high cost, and poor antimicrobial properties limit its industrial applications. To address these issues, researchers have modified PLA with flexible materials. Jacobsen and Fritz 1999 [1] incorporated native starch (natural product) into the PLA to improve its mechanical properties, which increased its rigidity but with a more significant reduction in elongation at break and impact strength.
